Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

How can ketamine help me?

Ketamine is a drug that instantly improves depression and other mental disorders. It is ideal in combination with psychotherapy.

First, the drug is known as a dissociative, which means that your experience will be in the third person: as if you are watching a movie in which you play the lead role. This emotional distance between “you” and “your movie” is helpful from a therapeutic perspective.

Second, a small to medium dose puts you in a dream-like state in which your thinking and analytical mind can be very active and creative. This combination of creative analysis and emotional distance makes this an excellent psychotherapy tool.

The key elements that make the experience a breakthrough therapeutic one are Intention, Mindset, Setting, Skill and Integration.

Intention.

Ketamine is mind altering and that is a mechanism we use to improve your depression, pain, anxiety and PTSD. In this altered state new insights and feelings can take hold. Such change is set in motion with an intention. The stronger and clearer the intention, the more profound the effect will be. With your intention you write the headline of your experience.

Mindset.

The right mindset towards your healing process will be critical to the outcome. Your therapist will work with you to prepare you for these life changing experiences. Music is a paramount tool, and we have perfected a playlist that will tune your mindset to the most optimal state.

Setting.

The environmental setting is extremely important as well. We are located in North Boulder on 37 acres of pristine land surrounded by thousands of acres of open space. This beauty and awe majorly contribute to your healing. We create a safe, trusted and healing place were you can surrender to a new beginning. We use ancient ceremonial methods, which have been used for thousands of years, to create the most healing opportunity for you.

Skill.

The experience is a journey not unlike a trip to an unfamiliar country with a language and culture which is initially foreign to you, and thus it is important to have an experienced guide with you. Our psychotherapist has traveled in this land many times, and will be there to support you with any challenge. Skills that you already may have and that come in handy are meditation skills, breathing techniques, a first experience at another clinic, and possibly other psychedelic experiences.

Integration.

You most likely will encounter profound hope, deep insights, bliss, lightness of being, and happiness and it is critical that you can integrate these feelings into your daily life. These benefits may fade quickly without the guiding help of a psychotherapist. Integration moves these positive states of mind from an altered reality into your normal life, and this is an essential step in your healing process.
